meditation

knowing that the defilements are overcome through insight, yoked with calm, one should seek first to develop a calm state of mind. this is easily gained by detachment from the world. it is said that there is no hope of liberation for those who are overly attached to things.

the principle adversary of diligence is laziness.

you must recognize when to apply an antidote and when to leave the mind alone.

apart from meditation on the correct view there is no path that can destroy the root of samsara.
